Met de overgang van de RTM naar de RETM en de bijbehorende forse uitbreiding van het aantal lijnen, was ook een nieuwe insteek nodig met de koersborden waarop het publiek snel de bestemming kon lezen en uiteraard ook duidelijk was welk lijnnummer het betrof.
